What has America learned from the revelations that FBI agent Peter Strzok, the No. 2 official in the agency’s counterintelligence division, and ABC News Chief Investigative Correspondent Brian Ross, abandoned their professional ethics as part of their disdain for the results of the 2016 election?
Critical observers have noted that the Obama Administration morphed America from being the planet’s “indispensable nation” to a power in full retreat with an increasingly hollow military. Its policies failed to allow the nation to truly recover from the recent recession, as had always happened in past economic crises. It worsened race relations, doubled the national debt, dramatically increased the cost of health insurance, and devastated middle class jobs.
It also changed the nature of American national government. Federal agencies such as the Department of Justice, the Internal Revenue Service, the EPA and even part of NASA and the NOAA were drafted into partisan service. Throughout all this, most of the media remained undeterred in their praise, even as errant federal officials violated ethical standards.
As a consequence, 2016 was a heady year for the GOP, as voters expressed their disagreement with these “fundamental changes” Obama promised and instituted, and rejected the media’s noncoverage of his failures. Republicans won stunning victories in both state and national elections, gaining control of the White House, and holding on to majorities in the House and Senate. Republicans scored dramatically well in state elections, where they now have 34 governorships and control 32 state legislatures.
However, the progressive media has demonstrated differing views from the electorate. From news programs to comedy shows, the established news and entertainment barons and social media giants have, since the election, created a false sense of crisis throughout the nation. They are joined by what many call the “deep state,” federal careerists who resent having their business-as-usual failures and ethical shortcomings challenged by Donald Trump.
Both the D.C. bureaucrats and the media establishment share a desperate vulnerability. The inappropriate activities the leadership of federal agencies engaged in during the Obama years are, following the unexpected loss of Hillary Clinton, suddenly open to disclosure and potential punishment.
It tag on exactly the same principle as cheapest cialis canada . It is a problem that needs to be dealt with sensitively, as men pride themselves on their manhood and it hurts their women viagra online ego too. Atherosclerosis is when the artery narrows due to gathering of cholesterol on the cheapest viagra for sale artery wall. Erection-helping medicine is the best that helps men suffering from ED achieve erections. this is because it causes an upward improvement in the flow of blood from the cialis pfizer achat heart to the body) and Veins (that carry blood back to the heart). The actions of Strzok and Ross are responses to that vulnerability. Mueller’s team, which in any other instance would have been disqualified for partisanship, is an investigation in search of a crime. Consider what the now key charge appears to be: members of Trump’s transition, including Michael Flynn and possibly Jared Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law, contacted Russia in an attempt to get them to not vote against an ally of the U.S. in the United Nations. Perhaps, in the mind of the hard left, sticking up for an American ally, particularly Israel, is a terrible thing to do; however, it is hardly illegal.
Attempts to portray this action as criminal is precisely in line with the pattern of behavior the Obama Administration engaged in for eight years. Disagree with the president on fiscal matters, as the Tea Party did? Face harassment by the IRS. Oppose Obama’s views on climate change? In addition to then-attorney general Loretta Lynch announcing that she would seriously consider criminally prosecution for that, various left-wing state attorneys general engaged in legal harassment against those disssidents.
Meanwhile, the former Administration’s inappropriate surveillance of its political opposition, its outright falsehoods concerning Benghazi, its whispered promise to the Russians to pull back on missile defense (a particularly serious error, now that North Korea has the ability to reach the U.S. mainland with nuclear weapons), and the DNC’s fixing of the primary process to insure Clintons’ victory continue to be under-discussed by far too many in the press.
It is a historically familiar pattern. Criminalize the act of opposition. Delegitimize election results with false charges. Ignore your own sides wrongdoing. On that point, it remains stunning that no charges have been brought against Ms. Clinton for the act of selling the basic ingredient of nuclear weapons to an enemy nation in return for cash “contributions” to her foundation.
The establishment bureaucracy and their media allies continue to seek to protect themselves and divert attention from their failures through the harassment of the 2016 victors. It’s a sad, but globally familiar tactic.
