The groundwork was laid even earlier.  Educational institutions, media outlets, and Hollywood began pushing an historically inaccurate, indeed libelous, picture of the nation that has provided more freedom and more prosperity than anything else that ever existed.

Now, mayors in places like Portland, Oregon side with rebellious mobs over their own police force.  New York’s Mayor defies both the city’s own ethics rules and the United States Constitution in his determined bid to put the interests of an extremist group and the criminal actions they undertake above the good of his own city.

TIP’s end goal was clearly enunciated by both Hillary Clinton, who advised Joe Biden not to concede no matter what the election result is, and John Kerry, who urged violence in the streets in the event of a Trump victory.

A continuation of the attempts to overturn election results is a serious challenge to the American form of government, but it is not the only danger. The normalization of violence is the essential addition that could lead to open conflict.

The goal is to encourage threatening incursions at or near the homes or offices of those who dare to question the Left’s false charges.

Crucial to the Left’s success is eliminating any center of influence or power not subservient to their power.  That explains the ongoing vicious diatribes against any politician, Democrat or Republican, who differ in their views.It also explains the unprecedented assault against religion. The central thesis of those attempting to initiate a race war in America is that, even if there is not one law, rule, procedure or practice that is racist, America is a racist nation so long as any individual commits a racist act. That, of course, establishes a criteria that every single citizen must be totally pure of heart, thought and deed, a criteria no human society can attain.

It is a sobering reality that, so far, the Progressive war on freedom has made extraordinary advances.

The allegation that America suffers from systemic racism is at the top of the list at the moment.  Yes, there are some evil individuals with hatred in their hearts, some act on that. But they are individuals.  To be “systemic,” laws, rules, and official procedures would have to be in place.  Since the end of segregation and other oppressive measures in the 1960’s, there has not been systemic racism.

The Democratic Party, which alleges the existence of systemic racism, is portrayed as the political grouping that helps Black Americans. Since the 1960’s, Democratic “poverty” programs have provided numerous jobs to political appointees, but have done next to nothing to truly undo the poverty that is the legacy of slavery and segregation.  When successful blacks, such as Justice Clarence Thomas, Dr. Ben Carson, or others point this out, the leftist media and Democratic leaders attack them with everything in their arsenal.

Two of the most currently powerful leftist groups, Antifa and Black Lives Matter, claim to be organizations that want greater democracy.  That is utterly false.  Both have engaged in extensive violence.  They oppose constitutional governance. Neither is in favor of free speech. They beat and batter those who dissent. They and their arrogant supporters use every device including physical threats and actions, economic pressure, and more to suppress those who do not surrender to them.  Their drive to “defund the police” and label their opponents as racist is clearly a way to eliminate any obstacle that stands in the way of their illicit push to gain power.  These actions are criminally seditious and should be treated as serious challenges to the continued existence of freedom in America.

Perhaps the greatest Big Lie comes from the supporters of socialism.  Nations that have adopted socialism have endured loss of freedom, loss of opportunity, and a diminished economy.  The USSR collapsed because of it. North Korea and Cuba are hellholes.  The Scandinavian countries are abandoning it. The people of Venezuela, who should be awash in wealth due to their nations’ natural resources, are impoverished because of it. Even the Communist giant, China, utilizes a limited form of capitalism to build its economy. But ignorant pundits, malicious college professors, and those seeking to diminish America are all for it.

Politicians Advocating Violence

America’s politics, and its civil unity, are reaching a significant turning point beyond which rests the frightening prospect of violence.

It has become customary to describe the frequent disorders on city streets, government offices, and college campuses as the work of extremist organizations such as Antifa, Black Lives Matter, and related organizations.  But the reality is that these tactics have been, although not directly organized, then certainly encouraged or condoned by many established Democrat party leaders.

There is a very specific reason for that. The policies of the left had an eight-year trial run under the Obama Administration, and they failed miserably.  Absent factual reasons to encourage voters to support progressive candidates, the slanderous tactic of portraying centrist and conservative candidates as being terrible people who should be deprived of their right to free speech or to hold or run for office is substituted. Unfounded allegations of racism and sexism have been produced, without fear that a largely partisan press would expose the charges as baseless.

The alliance of some key Democrat leaders with violent extremists is not new.  Not much coverage was provided by the media about Obama’s closeness with figures who embraced violent tactics.  Joel Pollak, writing in Breitbart described Obama’s alliance with Bill Ayers, which continued even after Obama had been elected to represent Illinois in the U.S. Senate. Ayers was a leader of the “Weatherman” organization, which issued a “Declaration of War” against the United States, a document authored by Bernardine Dorn, who became Ayers wife.

The Weather Underground has described  William_Ayers  as “responsible for roughly 72 bombings in all, including the United States Capitol (March 1, 1971), The Pentagon (May 19, 1972), the United States Department of State (January 28, 1975)[4] and numerous other targets. Ultimately, they physically push him. But all the while, they are operating on the premise, or carrying on the pretense, that he is making them unsafe. It is as if they’ve weaponized the concept of ‘safe spaces.’ ”

Must of the most recent harshness of our political relations can be traced back to Hillary Clinton herself.  During a primary debate, she was asked whom she considered “the enemy.”  She could have named terrorism, poverty, Russia, China, or any number of problems.  She chose instead to simply say, “Republicans.”  She recently added, “You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about.”

Progressive Politicians Have Harmed Black America

As racial tensions escalate across America, it is time for an uncomfortable but urgently needed conversation about race relations.

Many blacks correctly point to the reality that poverty in their communities remains higher than the rest of the nation.  They note that young black males have higher rates of incarceration and altercations with police. Non-blacks point to a half-century of anti-poverty and affirmative action programs. Some blame police-black tensions on a higher proclivity to respond negatively to law enforcement on the part of those youth, and suggest an absence of fathers as benevolent authority figures leading to that attitude.

Both have a point.  Yes, there have been extensive anti-poverty programs, but those efforts have been a failure.  Poverty remains virtually unchanged in the half century since they were begun.  The fact is, those endeavors have been a great benefit to the politically connected who administer them or who had the opportunity to work in them, but they have done precious little for the intended recipients.  The rise of “poverty pimps” illustrates the problem.

After the elimination of officially sanctioned segregation laws and the death of the Jim Crow environment, it seemed that the path to full financial equality would finally begin.  The results, to say the least, have been disappointing.  In truth, Blacks have been denied the same chance to progress economically that other American groups once discriminated against have had (Irish, Italians, Asians, Jews, etc.) This denial was not the result of intentional discrimination, but rather the replacement of the formerly dynamic and flexible U.S. business environment with one laden with excessive taxes and regulations on the federal, state and local levels.  It is doubtful that, given these conditions, any prior downtrodden groups would have had a viable shot at moving up the socioeconomic ladder.

The failure of the American school system also plays a key role.  The philosophy of education was once heavily tilted towards preparing students for success in the workplace.  About the same time as the Civil Rights movement succeeded, however, educational philosophy re-oriented towards more esoteric goals—learning for learning sake.  The fact is, everyone can’t find employment as college professors.  The traditional trades that helped the Irish, Italians, Asians, Jews and others to move into the middle class (and for many, beyond) were de-emphasized.

It is fascinating to note that in the one area where the anti-free free enterprise and excessively academic movements didn’t take hold—the military—Blacks progressed in about the same way prior minority groups did.

The white media shares blame with the politicians.  It, too, has glorified unsavory cultural leaders within the Black community, while rejecting those who have truly been a voice of reason.  It has failed to properly discuss the extreme harm done to minority communities committed by political criminals who rose to prominence as mayors in places like Washington, D.C. and Detroit.

It’s not just at the ballot box where this takes place.  In popular entertainment, the promotion of “gangsta” rap over more savory versions of that musical movement has created destructive role models.

A half century of failure and political self-interest is enough.  It’s time that traditional American economics and practices were given a chance.
