All of those alterations during the past eight years to the American way of governing they have brought about have three things in common: they do not have the support of a majority of the American people, they have not solved the issues they were advertised to address, and they were brought about in a manner not envisioned by the nation’s founders.
This fundamental transformation—essentially, the practical equivalent of a coup against Constitutional order– took place with little fanfare. The progressive perspective is in distinct refutation of not just the specific prescriptions of America’s central governing document. It also rejects Lincoln’s concept of government by, for, and of the people. Besides, an aristocracy is not bound by the same laws as the “little people” who, they believe, should obediently follow the leadership of their betters.
